Yungblud made it to the headlines after he paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the VMAs. The English singer grabbed the headlines when he wore a cross necklace, which Ozzy gifted to him. Amid his presence at the VMAs, where he is gaining attention, let's take a look at his career and life. Before becoming a singer, Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, tried his hand at acting, and soon after he got attention with his singing skills, there was no stepping back for him. So, without further ado, let's have a look at his life.
Yungblud was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, to Samantha and Justin Harrison. In his childhood, Yungblud had suffered from ADHD, and reportedly, for the same reason, he was thrown out of school, as he tried to fulfil a dare given to him by his friend. Later, in several interviews, Yungblud shared that he was an opinionated student and that his energy was often misunderstood during his childhood. He was first at Ackworth School, following which he attended Arts Education School, which he quit in 2015. Not only ADHD, but in a post back in 2018, Yungblud revealed suffering from insomnia, while in an interview with The Evening Standard, he talked about being suicidal twice through positive and negative phases during his career.
Before finding his true calling in music, Yungblud started his career in the acting world. He was seen in TV series like Emmerdale and The Lodge. Following this, in April 2017, he released his first single, King Charles, and eventually another single, I Love You, Will You Marry Me? He had released two more singles in the following years, one of which was about sexual assault against women. By that time, he had already garnered significant attention, and when speaking to Harper's Bazaar, he stated that this issue needed to be discussed from a man's perspective.
In 2018, Yungblud released his first album, 21st Century Liabilities, and went on to tour with the Vans Wrapped Tour. The following year, he released his second EP, Underrated Youth. In the same year, he went on to release his second album, Weird, which broke all the records to top the UK Album Charts. His third album, Yungblud, also became a huge success, reaching number 45 on the Billboard 200 and number 7 on the U.S. Top Rock Album charts. In 2023, he performed at the Coachella festival. His fourth album, Idols, was released in 2025 and garnered significant attention as well.
Yungblud, from his early childhood, grew up idolising legends like Ozzy Osbourne. It was in the years following his career that Ozzy and Sharon took a liking to him, witnessing the same fire and rebellious nature in him that Ozzy had in his youth. In several of his interviews, he tagged Ozzy as his mentor, guide, and father figure. Ozzy praised Yungblud in several of his interviews while tagging him as the 'spirit of rock and roll'.

Ozzy gifted the singer with a silver cross necklace, which he had recently worn on the red carpet of the VMAs, earning him praise. To mention, Yungblud performed with Ozzy Osbourne back in July 2025 at the latter's Black Sabbath final farewell show. After the demise of Ozzy Osbourne, Yunblud was devastated, and he, in an interview, said that the Prince of Darkness actually showed him the light by teaching him how to be unapologetically 'yourself'.
Yungblud's personal life has been a high-profile one. He started dating Halsey in 2018. The duo connected via IG DMs, and their relationship was quite public. The duo had dated for a while and even collaborated on the song, 11 Minutes. After a few months of dating, the duo called it quits. While the exact reason for their breakup isn't revealed, Halsey, in an interview, said that sometimes things don't work out, and it doesn't mean that someone has cheated or done anything wrong.
Following his breakup with Halsey, Yungblud was linked to Miley Cyrus. Rumour mills were churning that the duo had found comfort in each other and were taking things forward. Later, it was confirmed that there was no romantic angle between Yungblud and Miley, and they were only good friends to each other; Yungblud was already in a relationship with someone else at the time.
In 2021, the singer started dating singer and fashion designer Jesse Jo Stark. He called Jesse the 'love of his life'. The duo has been on and off for a while, and they are now together and going stronger than ever. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Jesse picked her beau as the 'sexiest man alive', not only for his looks but also for his heart's authenticity.
Speculations were rife that Yungblud and Jesse parted ways in early 2025. Well, later, they reportedly got back together, and they were even spotted house-hunting a few days after being seen together. For the unversed, Yungblud is sexually fluid, and in an interview with Attitude Magazine, he revealed that he considers himself pansexual and polyamorous. Yungblud has advocated for the LGBTQ+ community. He said:
"Because it’s the [label] that allows me to be who I am; it’s the one with the most room for manoeuvre. Do you know what I’m saying? I do feel like I am less insecure about it.”
