Zarina Wahab Says She 'Doesn't Care' About Aditya Pancholi's Infidelity, 'A Lot Of Men Have Affairs'

Veteran actress, Zarina Wahab has always spoken candidly about her unconventional marriage to actor-producer Aditya Pancholi. Despite being five to six years older than him, the couple tied the knot within less than a month of meeting. In a recent interview, Zarina revisited their whirlwind romance and opened up about the many rumours of Aditya’s alleged affairs that cropped up after their marriage.

When Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi got married in 1986, it was quite unconventional for that era. In a recent chat with Nayandeep Rakshit, Zarina revealed that they tied the knot just 15–20 days after meeting. During an emotional scene in Nari Hari, she comforted a crying Aditya, and that heartfelt moment led to their decision to marry. Reflecting on how everyone thought the marriage was short-lived, Zarina said:

“We were working on the Nari Hari film. This was the time I met him. He was a very good-looking boy. He had a scene to shoot where he had to cry. He started to cry and didn’t stop at all. We even had to stop the shooting for that day. We sat in the same car when I held his hand and told him, ‘Don’t cry’... He held my hand tighter, and within 15 days, we got married. Everybody said, ‘She has married such a good-looking man, he will leave her in a week.’ And look, it's been 38 years.”

Even after 38 years of marriage, Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi are still going strong, though their journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Aditya’s alleged affairs have often made headlines, but Zarina has stayed unfazed. She called them mere ‘phases’ and said she never paid attention, knowing Aditya loves her and always comes back home. In Zarina’s words:

“People think I am very stressed. They simply assume that ‘she must be unhappy because Aditya is seeing this and that girl’. Nobody says, ‘Yeh ladki dekh rahi hai inko’.That’s wrong. This is all a phase which comes and goes. I never take these phases seriously as I know he will never get serious with anyone else, as he loves me a lot.”

Zarina and Aditya, who tied the knot in 1986, are parents to Sooraj and Sana Pancholi. She admitted that while rumours of Aditya’s alleged affairs, including high-profile links with Kangana Ranaut and Pooja Bedi, did reach her, she never let them disturb her peace of mind. For her, what mattered most was that Aditya remained a loving father and husband at home. She also clarified that her decision to stay with Aditya was never out of helplessness, as she’s an independent woman who can live on her own. She shared:

“I used to feel a little bad when I used to read affair rumours, but then I also laughed at them. I don’t care what he does outside, but when he enters the house, he is an excellent father and husband. And that’s all that matters to me. I would have felt bad if only he brought his affairs home. A lot of men have affairs and still run a family. If I will start taking these things too seriously and start fighting over it then I will suffer. I don’t want to suffer, I love myself... I never thought of leaving him. We never discussed this.”
