Zarine Khan Said She Was Bonded With Hrithik Roshan For Life, 'He Is The Father Of My Grandchildren'

Bollywood is mourning the loss of actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan’s wife, Zarine Khan. She was the matriarch and a well-known name in Mumbai’s social circuit and mother to Zayed Khan, Farah Khan, Sussanne Khan, and Simone Arora. As per multiple reports, Zarine passed away peacefully at her Mumbai residence at the age of 81 after a sudden cardiac arrest.

Zarine Khan shared that she was bonded with Hrithik Roshan for life

Zarine Khan shared a very warm bond with her son-in-law, Hrithik Roshan, despite his divorce from Sussanne Khan. She always maintained that Hrithik was just like a son to her and nothing could change it. When Zarine launched her cookbook in 2015, Hrithik was her biggest cheerleader. Talking about her bond with Hrithik, Zarine said:

“He is the father of my grandchildren and we are bonded for life. When the divorce went through, she (Sussanne) didn’t make a hue and cry. We are a family and we always have been family and friends together.”

Zarine Khan revealed Hrithik Roshan was in the wrong profession

Despite Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan’s divorce in 2014, he maintained a dignified relationship with her family. They were often seen at parties and other social gatherings. In a throwback interview with Filmfare, Zarine once revealed the best quality of Hrithik and said:

“I think he is in the wrong profession. His heart is so gentle. He is so human and forgiving. He would have made a great spiritual leader. He never holds a grudge, never gets angry. Only extreme injustice against someone can make him really angry. Otherwise, he just lets things go, even if someone wrongs him, or does something that upsets him.”

Who was Zarine Khan?

Born as Zarine Katrak into a Parsi family, she began her career as a model and later appeared in films such as Tere Ghar Ke Samne and Ek Phool Do Mali. After her marriage to Sunjay Khan, Zarine took up the role of a mother and looked after her family. She ventured into interior design and also authored the cookery book, Family Secrets: The Khan Family Cookbooks.

According to multiple reports, Zarine was battling age-related issues for some time, but the family didn’t disclose any specific condition. On November 7, 2025, Zarine breathed her last after she had a sudden cardiac arrest.
