Zeenat Aman Is The Sister Of Veteran Actor, Raza Murad, He Refused To Shoot A Rape Scene With Her

The epitome of sensuousness, Zeenat Aman brought an oomph factor to the silver screen with grace. At the age of 19, she became the first Indian to win the Miss Asia Pacific pageant in 1970. The actress swooned everyone with her scintillating moves and screen presence in her debut film, Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

Since a very young age, she wanted to be an actress, mainly because Zeenat’s father, Amanullah Khan, was a screenwriter. He is the writer of hit films like Mughal-e-Azam and Pakeezah. Raza Murad is the first cousin of Zeenat Aman

Not many people know this, but Raza Murad is Zeenat Aman’s brother as he is the nephew of her father, Amanullah Khan. Raza’s relationship with Zeenat’s father makes him the actress’ first cousin. Hence the two veteran stars share a very close bond with one another.

Raza Murad refused to shoot a rape scene with Zeenat Aman

It so happened that during the making of the film, Daku Haseena, Raza had to shoot a rape scene with Zeenat, but the actor straightaway denied it. As per multiple reports, Raza told the director how he could not shoot a rape scene with his sister. The director of the film, Ashok Rao, tried to convince Raza, but it was of no use.

When the makers failed to convince Raza, they assigned the task to Zeenat. The actress told her brother that they were professionals and that when it is about work, one should keep the relationships at bay. Zeenat managed to convince Raza, and the scene was shot. However, as per Raza, it was one of the toughest scenes he had to shoot in his career.

Raza Murad is the son of Bollywood character actor, Hamid Ali Murad. He began his career in 1972 with the film Ek Nazar and has acted in over 250 Hindi films. Some of his successful roles include Prem Rog, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Mohra, Gupt, Jodhaa Akbar and many others.

When Dev Anand couldn’t help but fall in love with Zeenat Aman

Zeenat was 20 years old when she played the role of Dev Anand’s sister, who was aged 48 then. Despite the huge age difference, Zeenat’s bold demure made Dev Anand fall hopelessly in love with her. In his autobiography, Dev Anand penned his feelings for Zeenat and how he decided to propose to her. He wrote:

“Whenever and wherever she was talked about glowingly, I loved it; and whenever and wherever I was discussed in the same vein, she was jubilant. In the subconscious, we had become emotionally attached to each other. Suddenly, one day I felt I was desperately in love with Zeenat – and wanted to say so to her! To make an honest confession, at a very special, exclusive place meant for romance. I chose the Rendezvous at the Taj, on top of the city, where we had dined together once earlier."
