Hollywood's favourite teen drama at the moment, Euphoria, is not new to both on and off-season chaos. As the show prepares for the release of its third season, rumours are rife that the lead stars of the franchise, Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney, are allegedly in conflict. Moreover, Tom Holland's inclusion in this drama has made it all the more serious. According to fans, the tension between the actresses has been brewing for some time, stemming from personal and professional differences that could overshadow the highly anticipated release of Euphoria Season 3.
According to reports from TMZ and Hollywood Unlocked, Zendaya is allegedly hesitant to promote Euphoria Season 3 with Sydney Sweeney. According to insiders, the Golden Globe winner prefers to keep her distance from Sydney due to a series of controversies surrounding Sweeney. Whether it was her family's political affiliations to eyebrow-raising PR moves, all this has been considered by Zendaya. Furthermore, the sources claim that the situation worsened after online gossip suggested that Sweeney had been "flirty" with Zendaya's fiancé, actor Tom Holland, during past industry events.

Although there is no significant evidence to support the rumour, it has not stopped fans from speculating about it. Since then, social media has been abuzz with claims that Zendaya has subtly avoided tagging or interacting with Sydney on social media platforms, despite both actresses maintaining a professional front publicly.

After the news about the reported conflict between Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney made headlines, fans have been divided over the speculation. Some believe the alleged fallout is exaggerated as both stars have previously praised each other's performances. Others, however, insist that the strained dynamic is real, especially due to Sydney's growing reputation for steering controversies. A fan highlighted how it could be just a rumour and penned, "Again, I read it somewhere but can't remember the source. The extra stuff is just rumors, but I mean, unless they comment on it directly, we're just all gossiping." Another fan who believed they had a reported conflict wrote:
"Thought I read a leak that she was hitting on Tom Holland, and that's why Zendaya chose to distance herself...But I don't have a reliable source. Also, remember seeing a TikTok where Zendaya dissed Republicans when ppl found out Sydney was a registered republican lol."

Sweeney's name has been attached to multiple controversies over the past few days, adding fuel to the narrative around her feud with Zendaya. Back in 2022, she faced heat from fans after posting photos from her mother's viral 60th birthday party showing guests in MAGA-style hats, where Sydney defended it, calling it an 'innocent celebration.'

Earlier in 2025, she drew more criticism when she collaborated with Dr. Squatch for 'Sydney's bathwater Bliss' soap inspired by her own bathwater. Recent, she again came under scanner for a misunderstood "jeans/genes" pun in an American Eagle campaign, which some interpreted as insensitive. And if that wasn't enough, her rumored romance with music executive Scooter Braun, who recently parted ways with several of his A-list clients, has kept tabloids busy.
Amid all the off-screen noise, HBO is moving ahead with Euphoria Season 3, which official began filming earlier this year. According to Variety, the new season will include a time jump, taking the story beyond high school and exploring the characters' adult lives. It will mark the return of the old cast, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi, and Alexa Demie. Some new faces set to join the lineup include Rosalía, Sharon Stone, Marshawn Lynch, and Kadeem Hardison. Euphoria 3 is set for a 2026 release.
