Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are counted among the most sought-after couples in Tinseltown. The couple never fail to paint the town red with their mushy romance and cutesy PDA. For the unversed, the duo started dating one another during the shoot of their film, Brahmastra, and they finally got hitched on April 14, 2022. A few months later, the couple welcomed their daughter, Raha into their lives.
For the unversed, before marrying Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor was termed as quite the casanova in Bollywood. The actor dated multiple women in his life. However, it was his relationships with top leading ladies, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone which had grabbed the headlines quite frequently. Moreover, Ranbir broke up with Deepika and dated Katrina, and finally broke up with the latter to be with Alia. Incidentally, it was widely speculated that in a party hosted by filmmaker, Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir’s closeness with Alia, led to cracks in his then ongoing relationship with Katrina.

While neither of the three parties ever admitted the same, it was much later in a press interaction that Alia reacted to the rumours claiming her to be the reason behind Ranbir and Katrina’s breakup. In her defence, Alia said:
“I read that I was the cause of the Ranbir-Katrina breakup. It was so ridiculous that I didn’t think it needed a clarification.”
In an earlier conversation with Neha Dhupia on her show, Katrina Kaif was asked whether she held any grudges on her ex-boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor and his then-girlfriend, Alia Bhatt. To this, the actress mentioned that she tries to make a good rapport with them, and added how she always felt at peace to hold no grudges. In her words:
“I'm taking this a compliment. But yes, if someone likes you, who knows me well, feels nice about my conduct, it's a good thing. I'm not trying to be saintly but it's always easier to just make peace, be friends, to be loving. I'm not doing this to make your life easier. But I'm doing it to make my life is easier. It genuinely is more peaceful and you feel lighter and happier when you don't hold on to any anger or grudges."

During her earlier conversation with Karan Johar on his chat show, Koffee With Karan 7, Alia Bhatt talked about maintaining a good rapport with her husband, Ranbir Kapoor’s exes, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. She mentioned:
“I think I know how to stay friends with my partner’s ex. I am very good friends with his exes. I love them both.”
