Alia Bhatt's 'Ramayan' Hand-Painted Saree Took 100 Hours To Complete For 'Pran Pratishtha' Ceremony

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor looked super stunning as they attended the historic event of Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Several religious personalities, dignitaries and Bollywood celebrities arrived to witness the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla. However, it was Alia's look that stood out. The actress gave an ode to Hindu culture and Lord Ram by donning a Mysore silk saree with the important events from Ramayan being handpainted on it.

On January 23, 2024, Alia Bhatt's stylist, Ami Patel shared a couple of pictures of Alia from the Ram Mandir inauguration. She also revealed deets about her unique saree, which she picked for the special occasion. Ami revealed that it was a Mysore silk saree with important scenes from the Ramayan intricately handpainted on the pallu.

The saree featured scenes from Shiva Dhanush, King Dasharatha's promise in the boat with Guha, the golden deer, the kidnapping of Sita, the Ram Setu, Lord Hanuman presenting the ring to Ma Sita and Ram Pattabhishek. The paintings were done in a traditional 'Pattachitra' style, and it took 100 hours to complete the saree on time for the ceremony.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's video from inside the temple went viral. In the clip, Ranbir was seen protecting Alia from the huge crowd, and he made sure she could seek the darshan of Ram Lalla amidst a lot of people and chaotic lines. Ranbir kept Alia close to him and made a wall with his hands as they moved ahead in the video.
