Recently, she turned designer for an American home furnishing label. Thus, while her fans are extremely elated about the same, a section of netizens slammed her for the same. For the unversed, even in her personal life, Deepika is riding high. She is currently counting the days with her husband, Ranveer Singh, to embrace parenthood for the first time in their lives.

Deepika Padukone opens up about collaborating with the US-based pottery brand

In an interview with Architectural Digest India, Deepika Padukone recently opened up about collaborating with a US-based pottery brand, Pottery Barn. She talked about designing her debut collection for the brand, for which she has been an ambassador since December 2022. Revealing how the mommy-to-be worked on each piece of the collection with a distinct global and Indian sensibility, she shared:

“This is not one of those collaborations where the brand sends you ten things and says, ‘Okay, you just approve it, we’ll put your name on it, and we’ll sell it.’ This has truly been a collaboration, and I’ve worked on every piece.”

Further, Deepika was heard stating how she brought a creative collaboration between the Indian elements with the West designs. However, she mentioned that it was quite difficult for her initially to collaborate with the brand. In addition, she mentioned how she aligned her vision with the design team and curated a bunch of products. In Deepika's words:

“I think we have a similar aesthetic and sensibility. It wasn’t easy, because they’re headquartered in California, and I’m based in India; there’s been a lot of back and forth, and it’s taken us a couple of years to put this together, but I think they have an amazing team. It was me sending them a whole bunch of references; things that I like and things that we should also stay away from, giving the design team direction. So yeah, it has truly been a collaborative process in that sense.”

On the website, we see an array of exquisite products designed by Deepika in collaboration with the brand, including soft, neutral-toned hand-knotted rugs, sculpted serveware, dinnerware, embroidered pillows, and many others. However, multiple prized items, including a Hand-Knotted Rug worth Rs. 3,95,000 and a Sausalito 8-drawer wide dresser amounting to Rs. 2,50,000, and many others, are found on the Indian website of Pottery Barn.
