The '90s superstar, Govinda's life is no less than an inspiration. He comes from a humble family and rose to fame on his own with his sheer hard work. Govinda worked day and night and created his own fan following, and the world still grooves to his songs and watches his movies on a loop. However, not many know that his love story with Sunita Ahuja is straight out of a Bollywood film.
Recently, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Govinda and Sunita revealed anecdotes from their love story. Sunita revealed that she had a bet with her jija ji to make Govinda fall in love. Sunita was just fifteen-year-old when she met Govinda. She also revealed that their romance brewed during a car ride when they were coming back from a film muhurat.

Govinda shared that his hand was resting on the car seat while coming back when Sunita put her hand on his. After this, their romance started, and he fell in love with her. During the interview, Govinda also revealed that his mother had warned him never to ditch her. Govinda said:
"Arey she told me if you ditch her, unhone bahut ganda lafz istemaal kara. Unhone kaha tu beekh maangegag agar tu ise dokha dega. I said, 'Aap itna pyaar karti hai.' Toh vo kehti sach vo laxmi hai."
Govinda's wife, Sunita also shared the reason behind keeping their wedding a secret. She said that they got married in 1987, and at that time, Govinda was at the peak of his career. During that time, if a hero tied the knot, his fan following would drop. So, she gave him a year to sign as many films as he wanted to. She was quoted as saying:
"So I told him that sign as many films as you can in a year we will live quietly. But once my daughter was born Tina then we declared on her first birthday that we are married. So for a year we kept our marriage a secret, I used to hide in my room so that no one should see me. See in love you do such things."
Well, Govinda and Sunita's love still radiates after so many years of being together!
