The King Khan of Bollywood has already made a name for himself worldwide with his humble nature, down-to-earth personality and spectacular acting. On the other hand, his darling wife, Gauri is an interior designer, who has worked on the interiors of several celebrities' houses, including actors Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, filmmaker Karan Johar, and fashion designer, Manish Malhotra.
For the unversed, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are parents to their three children, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. Altogether, the family of five live their king-size life at their abode, Mannat in Mumbai. According to media reports, the dream house is priced at Rs. 200 crores, and recently they had changed their nameplate. The new nameplate read 'Mannat Land's End' was designed under the supervision of the lady of the house, Gauri and is estimated at around Rs. 20-25 lakhs.
In an interview with the British weekly newspaper, Eastern Eye, Gauri Khan opened up about her husband, Shah Rukh Khan's design skills. She mentioned that it was during the ongoing renovation of their production house, Red Chillies Entertainment when the couple had worked together to decorate the interiors. She added that SRK has a 'huge say' in design and used to greenlit all the designs for the project. Further, she can be heard saying that 'Mannat' is her dream project, and she used to keep on revamping the house. Gauri said:
“He was extremely passionate, while the Red Chillies office revamp was in process. He had a huge say in design, and inputs about colours and possible uses of the ceiling, and flooring. He took a lot of interest in that project and likes to get involved whenever possible. He greenlit all the designs for the project. Mannat is so personal and an ever-evolving project for me as I keep redoing corners of the house, including my kids’ rooms.”
Earlier, in an interview with the HT, Shah Rukh Khan had revealed that his darling wife, Gauri, never allows him to disrupt the design of their house. The loving husband had added that he is only allowed to look after the technological appliances in his home. In SRK's words:
"In my house, most of the stuff that is bought for the house is obviously bought by the lady of the house, my wife Gauri. You are not allowed to disrupt the design in the house, because she is a wonderful designer herself. But one of the few things that I'm allowed to do because there is this understanding that maybe I know technology the best in the house."
In the same conversation, SRK had also talked about the one common thing that is present in his children, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam's rooms. He had said that there is a TV in almost all the main areas in his house, including a TV set each, in all of his three children's rooms. He had added that the aesthetics at his house are too good that he can place a TV anywhere and it looks good. He had said:
"I have 11-12 TV sets in my house and each of my kids have their own TV set in their rooms. Plus the aesthetics...are so amazing, that nobody questions that whenever I go and buy television, and put it in any room that I want or any place I wish to and this is God's honest truth."
On the work front, Shah Rukh will be next seen in the film, Pathaan, and Gauri Khan will soon start her online workshops for designers.
