However, one of the main highlights of the film’s trailer was Nayanthara’s screen presence. The actress looked fiery, and her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan was absolutely spot-on. However, not everyone is aware of the fact that Nayanthara was reportedly not the ‘first choice’ to play the lead actress role in Jawan.

According to multiple reports, even before approaching Nayanthara for playing the lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan, it was Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was chosen for the role. If the reports are to be believed, the makers of the film, Jawan approached the Tamil superstar, Samantha, for playing the lead opposite Shah Rukh, but the former declined the offer. As per reports, Samantha turned down the opportunity to work with Bollywood superstar, Shah Rukh Khan Jawan due to her desire to start a family with her then-husband, Naga Chaitanya.
For the unversed, when the makers of Jawan contacted Samantha Ruth Prabhu for the lead role in Jawan, she was with her then-husband, Naga Chaitanya. Sadly, Samantha couldn’t start a family with Naga as soon as cracks started appearing in their married life. Finally, it was in October 2021 when Samantha and Naga announced their separation in a joint statement. After this, Jawan was offered to Nayanthara, and she immediately accepted the powerful role in the film that has so many talented actors.
