The much-loved couple in the industry, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani, have been with each other for a long time. For the unversed, it was in October 2021 when they made their relationship Insta-official. Since then, from gracing various Bollywood bashes together to painting the town red with their mushy glimpses online, they never miss a chance to swoon many hearts with their PDA moments. Now, the couple is all set to tie the knot with each other in an intimate wedding in February 2024 in Goa. However, this was not their initial destination choice. Now, we got to know the reason behind the change in the wedding venue.
The much-in-love couple, Rakul Preet and Jackky Bhagnani were initially going to exchange nuptial vows outside India, but now they have changed the location to Goa. Revealing the reason behind the same, in a conversation with the ETimes, a source close to the soon-to-be-married couple shared that initially, they were thinking about exchanging the nuptials in the Middle East. And after meticulous planning for about 6 months, everything was already set up. But they altered their plans at the last minute, due to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s call for affluent families to hold their wedding festivities within India. The source said:
“Rakul and Jaccky had initially planned for their wedding to take place in the Middle East. After nearly six months of meticulous planning, everything was pretty much in order. However, following the call from the Indian PM in December 2023, urging rich and influential families to choose India as the venue for their big life events, Rakul and Jackky reconsidered their original plans and relocated the wedding to India."

Further, the source explained how the entire planning of Rakul and Jackky's wedding was done within the time, they thought of changing the venue. It was by mid-December 2023, when the destination was fixed, and the major accommodations were also done. Thus, the soon-to-be-married couple restarted their planning after a certain change in plans about the wedding venue. The source added:
"Their decision, made in mid-December 2023, necessitated a complete reset, involving the destination, resort, and accommodations. Despite the considerable changes, the couple embraced the overhaul, driven by their love for the country and desire to contribute to its growing economy.”
Earlier, as per a report in Bombay Times, Rakul Preet Singh and her beau, Jackky Bhagnani's wedding date was revealed by a source close to the duo. The Bollywood pair is about to tie the knot on February 21, 2024, in Goa. Ahead of that, their pre-wedding celebrations will take place on February 19, 2024, and February 20, 2024. The report further talked about Rakul’s bridal ensemble. The stunning actress has opted for a well-designed ensemble crafted by the ace designer, Tarun Tahiliani. However, there is still no official confirmation from the couple.

Earlier, when speculations were rife in the media about the madly-in-love couple tying the knot in 2023, Rakul once addressed them. In a chat with the ETimes, Rakul was asked about the then-speculations. To this, the actress shared that she and her boyfriend, Jackky have always been vocal about their relationship. Thus, pointing towards marriage, Rakul mentioned that whenever it would take place, she would announce the same to her millions of fans. In her words:
“I have always been vocal and whenever that conversation happens, I will be open. I don’t have to hide. People make all sorts of stories. I am like chalo great, jab asli mein hona hoga tab pata chal hi jaayega. Whenever it happens, I will be the first one to announce it. As of now, we both are extremely busy with our work.”
