Popular television actress, Rashami Desai was massively mocked for her look at her close friend, Arti Singh’s sangeet ceremony. When the pictures surfaced online, people started dropping harsh comments on the actress' look and poking fun at her body weight. While Rashami looked absolutely stunning at the event, people left no stone unturned to mock her. However, the actress has now reacted to the same.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Rashami Desai opened up about getting trolled for her appearance at Arti Singh’s sangeet ceremony. Talking about the same, the actress revealed that she has been unwell for a few months and her appearance changed a bit. However, people didn't pay heed to what she was going through and started trolling her just because she was a public figure. In her words:
"In the glamour world, there's pressure to meet certain beauty standards. But sometimes, people don't realise what you are going through. I have been unwell for a few months. You can either do what you want or listen to others. I choose the former. I don’t need validation from anyone. Trolling comes with being in the public eye; it’s a part of life.”

Rashami further mentioned that though she has developed a thick skin, she sometimes does hurt by trolling. The 38-year-old added that she can’t look 21-22 forever, but people are finding it hard to accept the change. However, she shared that she no longer gets affected by the constant trolling and negativity that comes her way. She said:
“Surviving in this industry takes dedication. I can’t look 21-22 forever. My journey is beautiful, but change is hard for some people to accept. But it doesn’t affect me anymore because I am not born with a golden spoon. Everything that I have learnt is on my own. The negativity around has never harmed me and that’s one of the reasons I have been very strong.”
Talking about her appearance at Arti Singh's pre-wedding festivities, the Uttaran actress mentioned that people should have focused on the former's big day. Addressing the trolls, Rashami said that she often gets trolled for one thing or another so there was no point paying too much attention to what people are saying. She concluded:
“The function was Arti’s, and her wedding was more important than my appearance. The trolling changes everyday, yesterday it was about my clothes, the day before about my character and before that, for any anonymous reason, which one must not have even thought of. How much attention can you give it? You got to do what you got to do.”

Rashami Desai was dressed in a shimmery rose-gold lehenga paired with a sultry blouse and a dupatta at Arti Singh's sangeet. However, the Bigg Boss 13 fame was seen struggling throughout her photo session, as she struggled to walk in her outfit. She could be spotted lifting her lehenga with both her hands and struggling to move around. Despite wearing a heavy lehenga and feeling discomfort, Rashami flashed her brightest smile at the paps while posing for the lens. However, some netizens were quick to point out that the last hook of Rashami's blouse was open and mocked her for the same. Not only that, but some social media users also body-shamed the actress and passed negative remarks.
