Salman Khan has often been rumoured to be in a cold war with most of his contemporaries, especially the Khans, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan. Moreover, there have been quite a few other gossips, which stated that bhaijaan purposely doesn’t let his films clash at the box-office when any of his other contemporary actors schedule their film, so that the former enjoys a whole-hearted success. In fact, if we recall back in the past, we find many instances of Salman having engaged in fights with many of his colleagues, over matters of jealousy and competition. However, despite all of it, Salman usually tries to appear friendly with his contemporaries on camera.
Back in 2013, Kareena Kapoor Khan had graced the Salman Khan-hosted show, Bigg Boss to promote her song, Fevicol Se. However, during her stint, there was once quite an awkward moment the diva had to face, due to a witty comment made by Salman. In the throwback clip, Salman Khan was asked by Kareena to say ‘Hi’ to her husband, Saif Ali Khan, whom she had married just a year back in 2012. However, in his response, Salman grumpily said ‘What’s up’, followed by a very witty statement. Taking a dig at Saif Ali Khan, Salman said:
“What yaar, Kareena Kapoor, galat Khan se shaadi kar li.”

As soon as the old video resurfaced, eagle-eyed netizens took note of the same and started to express their reactions in the comment section. Well, a fair share of netizens were startled by Salman Khan’s open and unabashed reaction, and mocked him for the same. While one user commented, “Salman bhai dil ki baat bolte huye”, another netizen commented, “Bhai didn’t even hesitate”.
In one of his old interviews with IBT Times, Saif Ali Khan had once spoken up about the dynamic equation he has shared with his contemporary, Salman Khan. The actor agreed how there have been quite a few differences that propped up between the two of them, but nevertheless emphasised how they were able to walk past them. In his words:
“Over time, there have been some differences that have come up, which he and I best know about and that will always remain between him and me only. He is someone I have worked with, spent a lot of time with and he is someone I greatly admire as a brother. And that will never change.”
In yet one of his other interviews with Film Companion, Saif Ali Khan opened up about being tagged as the fourth ‘Khan’ in the film industry, and mentioned how he doesn’t feel worthy of such a tag, after the broad spectrum of work done by his contemporaries, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. He credited all three of them for their talents and added that he was never so ambitious like them.

Despite playing the brothers, ‘Karan’ and ‘Arjun’ on-screen, there was a time when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s wavelength didn’t quite match well with one another and reportedly, the duo maintained a cold-war with one another. Fast forward to now, it seems that the actors have let bygones be bygones and come together on a friendlier note. Proof of the same was found in an inside glimpse from Salman Khan’s Diwali bash, wherein he could be seen engaged in a serious conversation with Shah Rukh Khan.
