After completing her graduation, Sudha Kongara started working as a screenwriter for some years at the beginning of her career. It was the English film, Mitr, My Friend (2002), in which she worked as a screenwriter alongside famous filmmaker and actress, Revathi. Not only this, Sudha also worked as an associate director with the critically acclaimed director, Mani Ratnam.

Soon after gaining enough experience in different aspects of filmmaking, Sudha Kongara made her directorial debut in Telugu cinema with the film, Andhra Andagadu in 2008. After this, it was in 2010 when Sudha made a smashing debut in Tamil cinema with the movie, Drohi. Even to this very day, Drohi and Andhra Andagadu are the films which are closest to Sudha's heart, as they were her debut films.

It is quite rare to see actors sign a film with a 'multi-hero' cast, as every actor prefers to be the film's main lead.

However, when stars as talented as Suriya, Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Varma come together, leaving the 'one-lead' policy behind, you know they're doing it for a special director. Well, in this case, it is Sudha Kongara, who no longer needs any introduction as she has already proved the mettle of her excellence. The film is tentatively titled as Suriya43 as of now.
