Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur, is a wonderful lady, who often mesmerises us with her lifestyle. Unlike most other star wives, Prakash Kaur has always manifested and kept a simple life without the humdrum peeking in the limelight. However, she sometimes makes a public appearance, leaving everyone in awe of her simplicity. As Prakash Kaur turned a year older on September 1, 2023, she got the sweetest wish from her elder son, Sunny Deol.
Taking to his IG handle, Sunny Deol shared two pictures with his mom, Prakash Kaur on her birthday. In the pictures, the actor can be seen showering his love on his mother and giving a sweet peck on her forehead. Meanwhile, Prakash hugged her son tightly and enjoyed the warmth of his loving embrace. While Sunny looked dapper in a grey-hued shirt, Prakash Kaur donned a simple suit. Sharing the pictures, Sunny penned:
"Mama happy birthday love you."

In an interview with the Deccan Chronicle in 2013, Sunny Deol was asked about the reason behind the women of the Deol household staying away from the spotlight. To which, the Darr actor gave a quick and pertinent reply and clarified that it was their own decision. Sunny shared that neither he nor his father, Dharmendra, ever forced the women of their family to follow any rules, it is their own call. Talking about the same, he said:
“Neither my mother nor my wife was forced to stay away from the limelight. My wife is her own person. She has always had the liberty to make her own decisions. To not make public appearances is her own call. Like I said, neither my father (Dharmendra) nor I have forced the women in our family to follow our rules.”
Dharmendra got married to Prakash Kaur quite early in his life, as the duo was all but 19 years old. The couple had an arranged marriage in 1954. The couple is blessed with four kids, which includes two sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and two daughters, Vijeta and Ajeeta. At the time of their wedding, Dharmendra had not entered into the world of films. And while he went on to become a prominent face, his wife, Prakash Kaur kept out of the limelight for reasons best known to her.

Dharmendra's relationship with Hema Malini raised many eyebrows, but the much-in-love couple was unfazed by the criticism and trolling spewed upon them. Today, Hema has no ounce of jealousy from Dharmendra's first wife, Prakash Kaur, which is commendable. During her appearance on an episode of Rendezvous With Simi Garewal, Hema Malini opened up about her relationship with her husband, Dharmendra. When the host, Simi asked the 'Dream Girl' if she ever got jealous of her husband's first wife, Prakash Kaur, the actress immediately denied it. She was heard saying:
“Not at all. That’s why I am the happiest person today.”
