Twinkle Khanna made her acting debut with the film, Barsaat in 1995. However, after starring in many films, she quit acting in 2001 and was last seen in the film, Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001). On the personal front, Twinkle tied the knot with actor, Akshay Kumar on January 17, 2001. The duo is blessed with a son, Aarav and a daughter, Nitara.
In her Times Of India column, Twinkle Khanna recently opened up on her conversation about Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's three-day pre-wedding party with her sister, Rinke Khanna. Talking about the same, the author shared that she wants her kids to elope and get married. Sharing the reason behind it, Twinkle said:
"My sister interrupts my meandering thoughts. ‘You are talking about last names, but what about all the taam jhaam (all the fuss) we will have to do. The bar is now set very high after the Ambani events...I reply, ‘Well, I can’t dance like Nita Bhabhi. The last time I tried dancing to Tamma Tamma Loge during the pandemic, I think even God didn’t want to see my uncoordinated footwork because I immediately fell down and fractured my leg."

She further added that her husband, Akshay Kumar, can not stay awake after 10 pm at night, and both of them get anxious whenever they have to host dinner parties for over 20 people. Twinkle also mentioned that if her children want her to be happy, they can simply elope and added:
"My husband can barely stay awake after 10 p.m., and we both get anxious about hosting dinner parties for over 20 people.’ I pause for breath. ‘If my children really want me to be happy, then the best thing they can do is just elope'."
In the same column, Twinkle Khanna also talked about the three-day-long pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar. Reacting to her husband, Akshay Kumar's energetic performance at the event, Twinkle mentioned that the former's vigorous dancing looked like someone was forcibly digging an oil well in the soil of Jamnagar. She said:
“He then performs a punching dance step that he repeats 33 times with so much force that it feels like he is about to dig another oil well through the stage and into the Jamnagar soil.”

The daughter of iconic actors, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle was in love with cinema right from an early age and even tried her hand at acting. However, after marrying Khiladi Kumar, Akshay Kumar, she bid farewell to her acting career and ventured into the writing world. The renowned author has released two books, Mrs Funnybones (2015), The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad (2016), and Pyjamas are Forgiving (2018), so far in her career as an author.
