Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor is known for his chocolate boy image in Tinseltown during his early days in acting. Being a handsome hunk, the actor was linked to many gorgeous divas, and Vidya Balan was one of them. Shahid and Vidya were reportedly in the news for the brewing romance between them, but the duo maintained their stance of being 'just friends'.
Recently, we got hold of an old video of the IIFA awards held in Singapore back in 2012, which showed Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapoor's fun banter. It so happened that Shahid and Farhan Akhtar were hosting the event, but they announced the wrong names of the presenters. However, they realised they had made a huge blunder once the presenters graced the stage, and among them was Vidya Balan. The hosts apologised and Shahid even touched Vidya's feet jokingly. Later, Vidya gestured towards the hosts and taking a jibe at her linkup with Shahid called him her past. She was heard saying:
“Shahid and Farhan, you better be good to everyone. My past and my future. My past and future co-stars!"

While Vidya Balan's wit impressed the fans, Shahid Kapoor's reaction was also unmissable. Further in the video, Shahid and Farhan went among the audience and interacted with Vidya. The Kabir Singh actor responded to Vidya's 'past' remark and dedicated a shayari to her. In his words:
"Aap hume bhool jaayein hume koi gham nahi, lekin jis din humne aapko bhula dia, samajh lijiyega is duniya me hum nahi."

For the unversed, Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan met on the sets of the movie, Kismat Konnection, and reportedly fell in love with each other. After the release of their movie, their alleged link-up became the talk of the town, but the duo remained tight-lipped about the rumours. However, soon Shahid and Vidya started having their differences, and they decided to put an end to their rumoured relationship.

Though Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapoor refrained from addressing their linkup rumours publicly, the actress once spilled the beans about the same. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 3 with Rani Mukerji to promote their film, No One Killed Jessica, Vidya was asked to address the rumours about her and Shahid Kapoor’s relationship. The actress didn't try to hold back and revealed:
"You know, it's been two years since the linkup. I am fed up of the name Shahid Kapoor. I want to be linked with other men. I am not saying that there was no smoke and there wasn't fire. I am saying I am not telling you who was stoking that fire."
