Ameesha Patel is one of the most prominent actresses in Bollywood. The diva never skips a chance to win the hearts of her fans, courtesy of her masterclass acting talents. Ameesha stepped into Bollywood with the iconic movie, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, alongside Hrithik Roshan, which bagged her immense success. However, it was in the year 2023 when the diva marked her comeback on the silver screens with her movie, Gadar 2, the sequel of the iconic Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, alongside Sunny Deol. And now the actress opened up about her bonding with Sunny and the Deol family.
In an interview with Fimygyan, Ameesha Patel shared that she can understand the Punjabi language very well, courtesy of her role as 'Sakina' in both versions of Gadar. The actress further mentioned that whenever she was on the set of Gadar, Sunny Deol, along with the director and the writer, never used any other language except Punjabi. Sharing more about the same, Ameesha stated that it's now become a habit that she and Sunny only talk in Punjabi. Ameesha can be quoted as saying:
"Sakina is now mostly Punjabi. But I can understand Punjabi completely and jab khaas karke main Gadar ke set pe hoti hoon. My good fortune is that I've been on it twice now and for long durations. Sunny ji aur Anil Sharma ji aur the writer Shaktimaan ji Punjabi ke ilava kisi aur bhasha mein baat hi nahi karte. And Sunny ji ki bhi ab aadat ho gayi hai mujhse Punjabi mein baat karne ki."

Going further in the interview, Ameesha Patel revealed what kind of bonding she shares with Sunny Deol and his family members. The actress added that she is connected to the Deol family, be it with Bobby, Dharmendra, or Prakash Kaur. Ameesha remarked that she is fond of the Deol family and vice versa. Talking about the same, Ameesha mentioned that whenever she graces the Deol household, the first thing she does is touch Dharmendra and Prakash's feet to take blessings. Ameesha mentioned:
"I am so connected to the Deol household, be it Bobby, Dharam ji, they are all fond of me and I love the Deols. Pehle main Dharam ji, ya Sunny ji ki mammi ko milungi toh pehle main unke pair chhuti hoon. So I feel I am supposed to know Punjabi to deal with the Deols."
In the same interview, Ameesha further revealed that she has Punjabi friends, which is why she knows how to talk in Punjabi, but Deols talks in Punjabi so perfectly that she feels shy. Ameesha also said that Sunny Deol calls her by the Punjabi term 'kudiye'.
In the same interview, Ameesha Patel mentioned that she bagged a special compliment from the veteran actor, Dharmendra after he watched her film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The actress has stated that Dharmendra has watched the film. Sharing deets about the special compliment from Dharmendra, Ameesha stated that when the film's shooting was finished, she went to touch his feet, and he had told her that whenever the silver screen would have Deol and Patel's combination, it would create a history. Ameesha can be quoted as saying:
"Dharam ji had seen the film. When the film finished, I went and touched his feet. He hugged me and said 'Main aapko ek baat bata deta hu ke jab bhi Deol aur Patel saath mein aayenge na woh film history create karegi."

Back during the launch of Gadar 2, Ameesha Patel bagged a lot of flak for coming in support of Simrat Kaur. However, in an interview with NDTV, Sunny was asked about his views on Ameesha bagging trolls. To this, the actor called the faceless trollers 'velle log'.
