Atif Aslam's On-Stage Gesture Divides Netizens, They Ask, Noble Act Or Trying To Copy Arijit Singh?

When we talk about romantic, sufi or Qawwali music, the acclaimed Pakistani singer, Atif Aslam’s name immediately pops up in our minds. He has been one of the most celebrated singers around the world and has been in the music industry for two decades now. Atif has lent his voice to some of the most soulful Bollywood songs like Dil Diyan Gallan, Tere Sang Yaara, and Tu Jaane Na, among others.

Atif is celebrating 20 glorious years of being in the music industry in 2023. To celebrate the same, the 40-year-old is currently on tour in North America, which began in September 2023 and will continue till November 2023. Recently, a video is going viral from one of his shows, which has gotten mixed reactions from netizens.

Atif Aslam asked a fan to not throw money at him

Atif Aslam is currently on tour in the USA, and he has been mesmerising audiences with his live performances in various cities. During one of his concerts, a fan threw money on the stage while he was performing. Instead of getting angry or ignoring the incident, Atif decided to use it as a moment to teach his fans an important lesson. 

He stops singing mid-way and then asks the fan to come on stage. He asked the fan to collect the money from the dias and instead donate it to some good cause. He further mentioned that he knows that the person is rich and requests him to use the money for some greater cause than showering it on him.

Netizens have mixed reactions to Atif Aslam’s gesture on stage

This gesture of the singer has divided the online communities. While some people hailed Atif’s noble action, others claim that he disrespected the person and pointed out a similar incident where the Indian singer, Arijit Singh had urged his fans to not throw money at him, but the only difference between the two instances was that Arijit had collected the money himself and had given it back to the person, whereas Atif asked the fan to collect the money by themself.
