Hema Malini and Dharmendra are one of the evergreen couples of Tinseltown. The duo, who celebrated 44 years of togetherness on May 2, 2024, have shed compatibility and couple goals for every fan of theirs. For the unversed, the duo had a rather unconventional marriage with one another in 1980, since at that time, Dharmendra was still married to his first wife, Prakash Kaur. However, over the years, the actor has respectfully maintained both his families with his presence and support.
Taking to the discussion portal, Reddit, an internet user recently shared an unseen picture from Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s anniversary celebrations today, which took place at their residence. In the glimpse, the couple could be seen posing brightly at the camera, as they wore huge identical garlands. While Dharmendra sported an orange shirt paired with black trousers, Hema Malini, on the other hand, donned a cream and orange-hued saree. The duo looked beautiful and evergreen as always.

Earlier today, Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s darling daughter, Esha Deol, took to her IG handle and dropped an unseen picture of her parents. In the snapshot, Hema could be seen cutely resting her head on Dharmendra’s shoulders. Along with it, Esha penned a heart-warming note that can be read as:
"Happy anniversary to my papa & mamma. I adore you, I love you & I just want to hug you."
Apart from her identity as a phenomenal actress and classical dancer, Hema Malini is also a distinguished politician. For the unversed, the evergreen star is the elected representative for BJP in Mathura. In one of her interviews with News18, the actress spoke about contesting for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and remarked how her husband, Dharmendra has been concerned on the same, regarding her participation. In her words:
“Dharamji didn’t like it. He told me not to contest election as it’s a very difficult task. He said, ‘I have experienced that.’ So when he said that it’s difficult task, I thought let me take it as a challenge. He faced a problem because he had to travel a lot of distance but he still did a lot of work. But when you are a film star working in politics, people have a lot of craze about you and want to approach you and you can imagine the craze people had about Dharamji. So it used to trouble him. I also face such problems which Dharamji doesn’t like. Because I am a woman so I am able to manage properly.”

All relationships go through ups and downs, and the same applied for Hema Malini and Dharmendra. In one of their previous joint interview with Stardust magazine in 1976, the actress shared an anecdote from her personal life and recalled how during the initial years of their courtship, Dharmendra would end up fighting with her every morning.
