Sooraj Barjatya’s famous film Hum Saath Saath Hai has undoubtedly been one of the massively loved family drama ever in the history of Indian cinema. Be its ensemble cast, mesmerising songs, comic timings and lots of positivity, the film even after so many years, is capable of pulling a chord in the hearts of its fans, who can re-watch it anytime of their life. And now, Karisma Kapoor, recalled some fond memories during the shooting of the film, as she spoke about the most elegant person in the sets she found back at the time.
Karisma Kapoor recently graced the show, India’s Best Dancer 3 as a judge, and embraced a small reunion with her Hum Saath Saath Hai co-star, Sonali Bendre. For the unversed, these two leading divas, along with Tabu portrayed doting sisters-in-law in the movie. During the show, Karisma revealed some unheard anecdotes about the BTS time in the sets, and shared how Sonali was the only one who used to sit elegantly in a corner and read through her books, while everybody else, including her chatted away. Recalling how everyone was intrigued about what Sonali read so keenly, Karisma mentioned:
“We really miss the days of Hum Saath Saath Hain, there are so many good memories associated with it. So, Sonali was very quiet, and I was the talkative one on set. Sonali elegantly used to sit quietly with her book, while Tabu and I always used to wonder, ‘What is she reading? Why is she not talking to us? What is there in that book?' While Tabu and I used to discuss films and which song we were about to shoot etc, Sonali used to be in the corner lost in her books. We used to go and ask her to come have lunch with us and she used to say, 'I’m vegetarian so I only have a salad' and I used to be like, fine but aa jao salad lekar.”

Going further in the show, Sonali Bendre, too chipped in and added her share of memories. She recalled how with such a huge ensemble cast of the film, it always used to feel like one big family on the sets. She even remembered shooting the song sequence ABCD I Love You with everyone in the bus, and adding how Karisma’s absence was duly felt. In her words:
“Hum Saath Saath Hain was an amazing journey and we were so many of us who used to always be together like a big family. One of the best memories for me was sitting together and eating food. Karisma was always the naughty one. I remember during the song ABCD I Love You, Karisma was not there for all the scenes, so we used to miss her, as most times, all of us used to be together. It was a joy to work on that film.”

Being the granddaughter of Raj Kapoor, Karisma has carved her own niche in the industry, and is still deemed to be one of the most beautiful faces ever in Bollywood. A few days back, Karisma Kapoor spoke about shooting a funny bike ride scene with her brother-in-law, Saif Ali Khan. She revealed how Saif admitted at the last minute that he didn’t know how to ride a bike, and finally, with a lot of risk and tension, they were just able to complete one lap for a short scene.

After quite a few link-up rumours and a broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor had tied the knot with her businessman beau, Sunjay Kapur in September 2003. Their wedding was a lavish one that took place in Karisma's ancestral house, Krishna Raj Bungalow, in Mumbai. They were blessed with their first child, Samiera, in 2005. Five years later, in 2010, the family got completed with the arrival of their son, Kiaan. Unfortunately, soon after the birth of their son, things began to go haywire in the lives of Sunjay and Karisma, and after a long and ugly battle of divorce and custody, they parted ways in 2014.
