The all-rounder Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik, is one of the most famous personalities in the world of cricket. The 41-year-old had appeared on Fakhr e Alam’s Aik Aur Cup show and revealed previously unheard emotional details about his professional journey. Shoaib disclosed how his father supported him in his entire journey.

While he shared how he came to like the sport, cricket and the hard yards he put into becoming one of the best in contemporary times, Shoaib Malik had tears in his eyes. He further recalled the time when his father passed away and how his elder sisters supported their family by doing jobs. In a new interview, the ace cricketer talked about his personal life.

Shoaib Malik engages in conversations around life, cricket and heartbreaks

The Pakistani all-rounder, Shoaib Malik appeared on Shaista Lodhi’s podcast, Talks That Matter, where the two engage in conversations around life, cricket and love. Shoaib revealed that ‘kite flying’ was the first love of his life. Then growing up, cricket became everything in his life. He disclosed that his late father was the sole reason why he stepped into the world of cricket.

Shoaib Malik also revealed that he regrets not spending much time with his family, especially his son, Izhaan. The cricketer further says that now he wants to settle down at a place and spend time with his mother, siblings and his son. The host then asks him if he faced any problems in his relationships, barring his bond with his family, to which he says that every relationship comes with its own set of problems. The 41-year-old sportsman says that one must be understanding in a relationship and make a decision based on the other person’s nature as well. He further said:

“Ek particular cheez ka main bohot shukar adaa karta hun ki woh ye hai ki main fight nahi karta. Main relationship ko end nahi karta wo kisi k saath bhi ho. Haan but ye seekha hai ki jo main feel karta hun wo point of view zaroor rakhta hun. Now I communicate.”

For the unversed, Shoaib Malik tied the knot with the Indian ace tennis player, Sania Mirza, in lavish wedding ceremonies held in both India and Pakistan in 2010. The duo welcomed their son, Izhaan, in 2018. However, reports suggest that Shoaib and Sania have parted ways and are currently co-parenting their son.

Shoaib Malik gave some valuable relationship advice for men, emphasising that it's important not to always say a ‘yes’ in any kind of relationship. He also addressed women, encouraging them not to limit themselves to caring for their households, but also to maintain their own sense of individuality. And further talks about believing that communication is key and should always be the top priority in any relationship.

Shoaib Malik reveals that he has stopped expecting from anyone

The host, Shaista Lodhi, said that sensitive people get hurt very easily. She then asks Shoaib how he copes up when someone hurts him. He says he gets hurt very easily as he is a sensitive person, and reveals that training helps him escape all the heartbreaks and hurt. He further said:

“Maine expect karna hi bandh kar diya hai. Main nahi expect karta ab kisi se. Main sirf Allah ki zaat se expect karta hun. Mere jitne log hai jinse meri jaan pehchan hai unke liye jaan bhi haazir hai.”

As soon as Shoiab ends his sentence, the host then asks him how many times he has got his heart broken. And then the cricketer says, “Mujhe lag raha ab hai hi nahi andar”. Further into the interview, Shaista applauds the 41-year-old cricketer’s nature of forgiving people and wishing them well and asks him if he ever wanted to punish people who broke his heart. Shoaib then says that it is not his domain to punish people. The Pakistani ace cricketer then says that he cries when he’s hurt. He believes that people should mourn and process everything by giving themselves enough time to feel and go through the situation.
