Let alone the stress of convincing your parents for an inter-caste marriage, the actual drainer starts with the events that follow. Every religion has its own set of rituals that its followers want to follow to the ‘T’. The failure of their fulfilment by the other side may lead to heated arguments. For example, South Indian traditions regard the colour white to be auspicious and prefer to drape it on the wedding day itself. However, in most North Indian communities, usually white is regarded to be inauspicious and brides are not allowed to wear the colour on their wedding day.
