Apart from that, her power-class acting performance in movies like Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Dil Chahta Hai, Dil Hai Tumhaara, and Armaan, among others, made her stand out from the crowd. However, it had been a long time since it was speculated that Preity's real name is Pritam Singh Zinta. And recently, the diva revealed if it's true.
Recently, Preity Zinta took to her social media handles and posted a selfie video. In the video, the diva can be seen looking beautiful as she was decked up in a black high-neck t-shirt. With open hair and soft makeup, she finalised her look. However, in the video, Preity revealed that she has been reading for years that her real name is Pritam Singh Zinta, which is actually untrue. The diva also added that after getting married to Gene Goodenough, she added a G to her name. Preity said:
"Hi everyone. I'm here because a lot of people keep asking me if Preity Zinta is my real name or is it Pritam Singh Zinta. So I just want to make it clear that Pritam Singh Zinta was never my name. I don't know how it has made it to Google and Wikipedia. My real name has always been Preity Zinta and now I have added a G to it, G for Goodenough. But since it's too long one G is Goodenough for me. So now I'm Preity G Zinta."

Preity Zinta, in the video, also jokingly added that she made sure to add a 'G' to her name in the end so that she doesn't sound like 'Preity Zinta G'. However, talking about her speculated real name, Preity shared that whoever has put the name out there completely made that up, and her name has always been Preity Zinta, and now it's Preity G Zinta. Preity added:
"I made sure I didn't add the G in the end otherwise it would have been Preity Zinta G. So it's just Preity G Zinta. I hope that makes it clear. So my name was always Preity Zinta and wherever and whoever has put it out there that it was Pritam Singh Zinta I don't know it's just made up. I hope that clears everything. Bye."

In the video, Preity Zinta also put a long note, wherein she revealed the back story of the name 'Pritam Singh Zinta'. The diva shared that on the set of her film, Soldier, Bobby Deol used to jokingly call her by the name 'Pritam Singh Zinta'. The actress also added how the movie became a blockbuster, and her and Bobby's friendship flourished over the years, but 'Pritam Singh Zinta' remained stuck to her. Check out Preity's caption below:
Earlier, in an interview with the IANS, Preity Zinta said that she never went to any acting school or workshop. Talking more about the same, Preity stated how she just wanted to get things right on the set, and after hearing the script, she just gave it all to her characters. In the same interview, Preity also said that she had a very strict family, which is why she had been selective about her roles in the movies.
