In her personal life, Rani is married to eminent filmmaker, Aditya Chopra and the duo is blessed with a daughter, Adira.
In a recent interview with The Times Of India, Rani Mukerji talked about her daughter, Adira and revealed how like her, the latter too has inherited Bengali’s tastes and is particularly a foodie. The diva went on to recount an anecdote from the Durga Puja celebrations that happen in the Mukherjee family annually and revealed how Adira developed a liking for kadak chai in a kulhad. In the same pandal at the age of three. She mentioned:
“My daughter has developed a fondness for tea, which is significant in Bengali culture. She tasted her first tea in a Durga Puja pandal when she was three, so she associates the festival with the joy of savouring tea. My daughter seems to have inherited my love for food. Like me, she has also connected with the kadak chai in a kulhad.”

In the same interaction, Rani then went on to reveal another interesting anecdote about her daughter and revealed how her little one loves to dress up. Moreover, she revealed that her daughter specially requested her mommy to get a saree for herself from Kolkata, which she is very excited to wear. Adding how happy she is to see Adira emulate her, Rani mentioned:
“She loves when everybody dresses up. This year she especially got us to call for a saree for herself from Kolkata and she is very excited to wear it. As little girls, I think they like to emulate their mothers at a very young age. She likes the fact that I am going to be wearing a saree and the fact that she is going to be wearing one is exciting for her.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Rani Mukerji recalled her childhood and talked about how she used to spend the fun-filled days of Durga Puja with her friends and family. She mentioned that back in the past, it was the aspect of bhog that used to excite her the most about Durga Puja and she was quite keen on staying awake till late at night and exploring many Durga Puja pandals. In her words:
“As a child, I cherished the bhog aspect of the puja, exploring the various stalls which had sarees, food delicacies and staying up late for the festivities. It was a tradition to go to Shivaji Park on Navami with my uncles, aunts, cousins to see other Puja pandals and explore food stalls in these pandals. For a kid to be awake till that late was fascinating for me. Eating fish fry, mutton chops and all those Bengali delicacies is something that I have always enjoyed.”

In her personal life, Rani Mukerji is married to filmmaker, Aditya Chopra, who prefers to stay absolutely away from the limelight. In an earlier interview with Film Companion, Rani talked about her equation with her hubby and highlighted how she made Aditya a more relaxed and happier person.
