Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya were once used to be hailed as the 'IT' couple of the entertainment industry. The duo fell in love with each other during the shoot of their film, Maaya Chesave, and eventually, they tied the knot in 2017. After almost four years of marital bliss, their paradise hit trouble, and they got divorced. However, in her appearance in Koffee With Karan 7, Samantha spoke broadly about her then-estranged husband, Naga, and also revealed if they had any hard feelings for one another.
In her appearance in the show, Koffee With Karan 7, Karan Johar asked Samantha Ruth Prabhu if she faced a lot of trolling coming along her way after deciding to part ways with Naga Chaitanya. To this, Samantha stated that although it happened, she could not just sit and complain about the same. Samantha said that she wanted to be transparent with her fans as they are invested in her life. Sharing that she didn't have any answer to the trolls at that time, Samantha mentioned:
"I can't complain about it because I chose that path to be transparent and when the separation happened I couldn't be too upset about it because they invested in my life. I didn't had answers at that time."

Going further in the conversation, Karan Johar asked Samantha Ruth Prabhu if she and Naga Chaitanya had any hard feelings for one another. To this, the actress shared that they actually had hard feelings for each other. She also added that nothing was amicable between her and Naga for then, but it would surely be in the near future. Talking more about the same, Samantha stated:
"There are hard feelings like if you put the both of us in a room you have to hide sharp objects. So as of now, yes. It's not an amicable situation right now. It might be in the future."
It was back on October 3, 2021, when Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya issued a joint statement and announced their separation to their fans almost after four years of their marital bliss. Taking to their respective IG handles, they dropped a picture note and mentioned that they had decided to part ways. Moreover, they also requested everyone to give them privacy during these times. During the promotion of his then-upcoming film, Custody, Naga Chaitanya sat for an interview with ETimes. When asked if he and his ex-wife have moved on in their respective lives, Naga said that it's been two years since they were separated and one year since they were divorced.
