Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan met each other at a very young age when the latter became neighbours with the Roshans. However, the actor fell in love with Sussanne at a traffic signal. Both were driving their respective cars when they got stuck in traffic, and one look at his left side made Hrthik fall in love with Sussanne. After dating for a while, the actor married Sussanne in December 2000. The two then welcomed their sons, Hrehaan, in 2006 and Hridaan, in 2008.
Unfortunately, they amicably parted ways in December 2013. At present, both Hrithik and Sussanne have moved on in their respective lives. Hrithik is in a relationship with Saba Azad, and his former wife, Sussanne has been dating Arslan Goni for quite some time now. While the former couple is in a happy place at the moment, there was a time when the two thought that they wouldn’t be able to live without each other.

When Sussanne appeared on the first season of Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan, in 2005 with Gauri Khan, she shared how she could never imagine her life without Hrithik. While conversing with the two star wives, KJo had questioned if they have any insecurities as their respective husbands, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan work with some of the most beautiful women in the industry. Gauri made a witty remake of this, but Sussanne said she would never move on in her life if Hrithik found someone else. In her words:
“I pray to God that if there ever has to be a time where I am not with Hrithik for whatever reason, I don’t think I would want to move on with my life. I cannot imagine my life without him.”
Further, Karan questioned if rumours related to Hrithik have ever affected Sussanne in any way. To this, she said that if anyone on the sets ever gave the slightest hint that she liked Hrithik, he would come home and talk about it with her. Moreover, she mentioned that as they were like friends and shared everything with one another, that’s exactly why she was never insecure about Hrithik’s work with other beautiful women. She said:
“Honestly, if there’s anyone who gives him the slightest clue that she is attracted to him, he comes home and discusses with me. We like talk about, it’s like a friendship thing. I don’t think there’s any point where I have been insecure because of this reason, because we are so open about everything. Insecurity comes when you don’t know the truth when you don’t know the facts.”

Meanwhile, two years after her divorce was finalised with Hrithik, Sussanne opened up about the reason behind parting ways with him. In an interview with Femina in 2016, she revealed that she thought it was better if they did not continue their relationship further. Stating it was better to not be in a false relationship, Sussanne said:
“We had reached a stage in our lives where I decided that it's better we weren't together. It was important to be aware and not be in a false relationship. We are close. We do chat a lot even though we don't hangout together anymore. But above all, we are very committed to our children. We are respectful towards each other. When children are involved, it's important to put our differences aside and protect them.”
