Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi, aka Shahid Afridi, is one of the most renowned cricketers in the world. He is a former all-rounder cricketer of Pakistan and has also been the captain of its national team. Besides his excellent cricketing prowess, Shahid Afridi is considered one of Pakistan's most commercialised cricketers, owing to his good looks.
Ladies worldwide are gaga over Shahid Afridi and how he has maintained his physique even years after retirement. Shahid has appeared in several ad commercials, and there were speculations that he will soon make either a Bollywood or a Lollywood (Pakistani entertainment industry) debut. However, nothing really fructified.

Recently, Shahid Afridi appeared on podcast, Game Set Match, where he was asked if any film was ever offered to him. To this, the cricketer replied that he was offered a few movies from India and Pakistan, but he rejected them all. Because he feels that one should do the work they have expertise in, and for him, it is cricket and not acting. Shahid Afridi further added:
"Doo dafa, teen dafa offer hui thi, India mei offer hui thi fir Pakistan mei bhi offer hui thi. Mere khyal mei kaam who karna chaiye jo ata ho. Toh meri jo pehechan thi woh cricket thi movies wagera ki taraf kabhi rujhan nhi thi.”
Shahid Afridi also added that he did a bit of acting in TV commercials where he had to channelise not much of his actorial talent. He also said that TV commercials were the extent of his acting prowess, and he did not even consider movies as an option, nor did his family.

In the same podcast, the host asked Shahid Afridi what qualities he saw in Shaheen Afridi when he married his daughter, Ansha, to him. Shahid Afridi revealed that he had known Shaheen and his family for a long time and noticed that Shaheen is a very good human being. Shahid further added that all of Shaheen's fellow cricketers praised his character, which compelled Lala (Shahid Afridi's nickname) to give his daughter's hand in marriage to him.
